The purpose-built home is designed to meet existing and future demand for residential, nursing and dementia care.

Nicola Thornton, planning and building development manager for Caring Homes, said: “Construction is going well at the site, and we are very pleased with progress.

“Our new Ware home will be an important addition to our elderly care home group, expanding our offering of high quality care provision in Hertfordshire.”

The four-storey scheme is being produced by Architects Design Group and constructed by Dalton Homes, builder of Caring Homes’ Belmont House in Sutton, which opened in July this year.

The garden and courtyard roof terrace have been designed by Fisher Tomlin & Bowyer.

Small family sections will be created within the home with easy access to community facilities, including a shared central bistro, hairdresser, cinema and lounges.
