Registered managers are invited to attend a webinar led by care home advice and directory specialist, Autumna Care this Saturday.
Following on from the success of its first YouTube Live webinar in early September, Autumna is running its second one – How to Choose a Care Home in a Pandemic – on Saturday morning at 10.30am.
Debbie Harris, founder of Autumna, (pictured) said: “The webinars are aimed at self-funding families and are just another way of addressing the common issues we are being presented with every day on our advice lines.”
The first webinar, ‘A Beginner’s Guide to Finding Elderly Care,’ went out in early September and has already had nearly 1,000 views.
“That webinar we believe will stay relevant for a long time,” Debbie continued. “We sincerely hope this one, dealing as it does with pandemic conditions, whilst being very topical now, will have a very short shelf-life.”
Autumna is keen for care home managers to view the webinar too, and registration details can be found here.
“We think it will give a good insight into how we operate and the sort of questions we get asked,” Debbie said.
“For example, we are getting a lot of calls now, where people are looking for home care but with extensive nursing requirements and we know that actually the sensible course of action is residential care. People are worried though. They’re worried about safety and infection control, but even more so now, they’re worried about the lack of visiting opportunities.
“Our webinar is designed to allay those fears and promote the many ways that care homes are rising to the challenges set by COVID-19.”
Following the same format as the first one, the webinar is set to run for just 20 minutes and will cover the basics of what to look for in a care home and then drill down into how to find the right one given that in-person visits and show rounds are so severely restricted.
As before, legal, financial and logistics experts will be on hand to advise the live audience, though much of the traction is expected to come in the days and weeks after the webinar.
