This week’s Clap for our carers event is being marked with the launch of a new badge to show appreciation for the care workforce.
The ‘We Care’ badge is a symbol of appreciation for the hundreds and thousands of people working in the care sector who continue to support our most vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wellburn’s Chairman Rachel Beckett, who is supporting the Care Workers Charity with the campaign, said: “These last few months have been as tough as they get for all of my amazing staff. We wanted to do something positive and exciting, for them and for every single person working in the care sector across the country, who’ve been tirelessly and bravely putting themselves in harm’s way, day in day out, to protect our most vulnerable and needy.
“We wanted something simple, bold and colourful that encouraged as many people to get involved as possible. The We Care badge and campaign, is a symbol of hope – to say we appreciate you, and we’re in this together. To send the message – We Care.”
The We Care badge will be on sale from today, to the general public for £2.50 at: www.showwecare.co.uk, with all profits going to the Care Worker’s Charity (CWC).
In a further show of appreciation for the heroic efforts of the care workforce during the coronavirus leading care service referral platform, TrustedCare, has launched a website enabling people to post their messages of support for the care community.
Many care providers are getting involved in the campaign by adding the ‘Message of thanks’ widget to their website and by sharing the platform amongst clients, their families and across social channels.
The platform is also helping to raise the profile of The Care Workers Charity who are currently experiencing a huge surge in demand for hardship payment requests, with applications having risen over 1,000% since the start of the COVID-19 crisis.
