WCS Care has been announced as a finalist in the Charity Times Awards which celebrate best practice in the UK charity and not-for-profit sector.

The Warwickshire-based charity, which is the only care home provider in England with six homes recognised as outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, has been shortlisted for two awards – ‘Charity of the Year: with an income of over £10 million’ and ‘Best use of technology’.

Christine Asbury, WCS Care’s Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted that our approach to care and use of technology are being recognised nationally after being announced as a finalist in the Charity Times Awards.

“WCS Care is changing social care expectations, and is delivering a challenge to the wider sector to raise its game and help change people’s perceptions about care homes, by sharing best practice and promoting stories of the great care that happens every day across the country.

“We’re not afraid to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation so that every day is well lived for people living in a WCS Care home, and we are inspiring other providers to think differently and to try new ways of doing things at the same time.”

Now in their 18th year, the awards are run by Charity Times magazine – a leading title for UK non-profit professionals. This year’s winners will be announced at a gala dinner and ceremony on Wednesday 4 October 2017 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.
