WATCH: Care home helps fill resident’s ‘football void’ during lockdown

A London care home has helped fill a resident’s football void during lockdown by linking him up with fellow fans.

Avante Care & Support’s Riverdale Court in Welling set up a pen pal scheme to allow Charlton Athletic fan Peter keep up in touch with fellow ‘Addicks’ lovers after he was no longer able to attend matches due to lockdown.

Having put his request to link up with other supporters on social media, the home has been inundated with kind letter, cards and signed memorabilia.
