Leading care and support provider Valorum Care Group (VCG) is launching a new learning and development Academy to attract more care and nursing staff and provide career progression and development.
The VCG Academy aims to improve skills, training, learning and development among its workforce and retain the valued people who work for the group and offer opportunities for career progression and development.
Frontline care colleagues will be given opportunities to progress their careers through the Academy and move into roles with more responsibility.
Those with managerial aspirations will be able to develop and enhance their skills and leadership to take up senior roles and lead how the Group operates.
A clearly defined career ‘ladder’ will allow people to move up from support worker roles to team leader, deputy/clinical roles, to registered manager and beyond.
For those looking to move into clinical roles, the Care Home Assistant Practitioner ladder involves the supervision of a Registered Nurse and will enable them to ‘bridge the gap’ between the role of care assistant and nurse.
A Future Leaders programme will also aim to identify and develop colleagues with the potential to progress into senior leadership roles within the business. And a formal mentoring programme, led by Valorum’s Executive Leadership Team, will work with future leaders to support them in their career development.
Valorum Care Group CEO Rhian Stone said: “The Valorum Academy is a fantastic resource, for all our people, whatever their role. It will support our frontline teams who provide brilliant care to the people we provide care and support to and at the senior leadership level it will also help us get our vital succession planning right. I’m really excited about its potential to deliver great things in the years ahead for Valorum Care Group.”
