The Care Workers’ Charity (CWC) is one of the thousands of organisations taking part in this year’s #GivingTuesday campaign on 30 November.

Brought to the UK in 2014 by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), this year #GivingTuesday offers the opportunity to give back to good causes, either by donating to charity, reaffirming commitment to a cause, volunteering time or supporting others by simply helping a friend, neighbour or family member.

Karolina Gerlich, CEO of The Care Workers’ Charity Andy Frain, #GivingTuesday UK Lead at the CAF, said: “We’re thrilled to be an official partner of giving Tuesday which we hope will help raise awareness and encourage fundraising efforts which are vital to our ability to provide as many care workers as possible with much needed financial and emotional support.”

In 2020 The CWC raised £3.2 million and paid out almost £2 million in COVID-19 Emergency Fund grants and over £200k in Crisis Grants to over 3,000 care workers in need.

Andy Frain, #GivingTuesday UK Lead at the CAF, added: “We’re all looking forward to moving on from the pandemic as soon as it is safe to do so, but it’s so important we remember the work done to help keep communities going over the last year and a half. Giving Tuesday is a great chance to give back to the charities and causes that we care about, and thank them for overcoming some immense challenges over the course of this pandemic.”
