The government has set out the Terms of Reference of its newly formed COVID-19 Support Taskforce.
The document sets out the aims of the Taskforce, which was established this month, along with its proposed membership, executive invitees and management roles and responsibilities.
David Pearson (pictured) CBE, Chair of the Social Care Sector Covid-19 Support Taskforce, said: “This virus has had a profound effect on all of us, but particularly for care home residents and those who receive care in their own homes.
“The Taskforce has a very important role to play in stopping the spread of the virus in care homes and overseeing the support put in place. We have brought together representatives from across government, the sector and public health, including those with first-hand experiences of care services to inform and guide our response.
“Social care is playing a pivotal role in our response to this virus, supporting the most vulnerable people receiving care and support, and our job now is to further harness our efforts.”
The body’s proposed members include CCQ chief inspector of adult social care services, Kate Terroni, and ADASS President, James Bullion, as well as representatives of the Care Providers Alliance.
