AHS Renewables is the number one supplier of biomass/heat pump solutions for UK care homes using more efficient, cheaper and cleaner energy.
Following a free survey from a care home specialist, the team developed a bespoke boiler system that could meet the client’s heating and hot water needs into three separate buildings housing 60 patients.
For its energy efficient solution, AHS Renewables decided on a 2 x 100 kw pellet-fed boiler system capable of feeding the whole care home. The boilers, along with a purpose designed wood pellet fuel store, were situated in a wood cladded out-building in the care home’s grounds. Along with 80 metres of insulated pipework, this completed the home’s direct heating system requirements.
In addition to providing a 40-50% cost saving on the original oil heating system, the care home earned over £25,000 per year through the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) Payback scheme, lasting 20 years. Following the scheme’s huge success, the care home’s owners plan to convert their remaining six homes to the RHI system bringing in a combined payment of £147,500 a year giving the group a payback within five years on installation costs.
The Government’s RHI scheme is likely to end in March 2022. AHS recommend all new applicants have commitments to new biomass systems by this date. If you want to avoid new electricity and gas charges and cut your care home fuel bills by at least 50%, AHS are happy to talk.
Also, as part of the service AHS gives bespoke emergency breakdown cover on every new installation.
