Strictly Come Dancing star Ian Waite officially opened a £13m Hallmark care home in Girton, Cambridge.
Ian cut the ribbon for Arlington Manor Care Home during an event attended by 200 people, including residents, families, staff and members of the local community.
Ian said: “It is an absolute honour to be here and I cannot believe how much detail has gone into this place. It’s not a care home, it’s a home. The space and the light is astounding and I’m sure anybody would want to come here.”
The home, which includes a number of first boasts for Hallmark, features a cinema, hairdressers, therapy room, and café.
Hallmark Care Homes Managing Director, Ram Goyal, said: “I am delighted that Arlington Manor Care Home is now officially open.
“We are looking forward to making Arlington Manor a part of the community providing outstanding care for residents in the future, enabling them to live life to the full.”
General Manager at Arlington Manor Care Home, Zoe Kirk, added: “I am so proud to be part of the team who have grouped together and have made Arlington Manor the beautiful home that it is today.
“At Hallmark Care Homes we take pride in providing high-quality relationship-centred care to the ladies and gentlemen we support and I am excited to be able to lead the team here at Arlington Manor and encourage the team to continue showing the enthusiasm and passion that they have shown in the weeks leading up to this grand launch event.
“We hope to be a well-respected member of the Girton community and I am excited to welcome our first residents into the home so they can experience the amazing care that I know we will provide.”
