The CQC praised the service’s strong management team who were committed to ensuring the best possible care and said residents were supported by a “highly motivated and very well supported staff team”.

The regulator also highlighted the strong relationship between the service and healthcare professionals.

Simona Ionita, the registered manager at Chelston Park, said: “We receive fantastic support from the local GPs, district nurses and community psychiatric nurses, Somerset adult social care, the CCG as well as our local community in Wellington.”

Jo added: “Very few care providers are rated as outstanding by CQC and it is a testament to everyone’s hard work that Chelston has been recognised. It makes it all worthwhile to know we are providing an outstanding service and have our efforts formally recognised.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our residents, families, friends, our team and local health and social care teams for their support which has made this possible.

“We are committed to maintaining and improving standards and look forward to celebrating with our residents, staff and visitors”.
