Smith+Henderson sets out to identify the best employers in care


Smith+Henderson, a specialist consultant that helps employers make their workforce happier and more effective, has launched an awards ceremony for the elderly care sector.

Care homes say that one of their greatest challenges is recruiting and retaining good carers, but Smith & Henderson says most could improve their success rate by learning from the best practitioners.

The Best Employers in Care Awards aim to unearth these leaders, and present them at a ceremony scheduled for November this year.

Finalists and winners will be selected following a survey of thousands of carers that asks them to rate their job satisfaction, communication, client services and development opportunities.

Following their survey, care providers will receive a summary of their feedback, but can upgrade to receive a more detailed report and benchmark data to help them pinpoint how to improve employee engagement and retention.

Through The Best Employers in Care Awards, we will be able to help more care providers become better places to work, improve retention and change perceptions of careers in care.”
