“There is a need for high quality care and nursing beds in the South East, so hope that this facility can help to meet this.

“However, our vision is not to be the biggest but the best. We leave no stone unturned on our quest to deliver attentive, individualised care to each and every one of the residents who make their home with us – and are proud of our track record to date. We can’t wait to get started here in Wandsworth.”

The £58m development, which will create 120 jobs, will include a cinema, hair salon, library, several luxurious lounges, a therapy room, bistro and restaurant.

The home will also cater for residents with dementia and has been designed using the Gold Standard framework from Stirling University.
