A shamed care home where residents were malnourished and left in their own filth is to close in the new year, according to local reports.
The Limes care home in Scopwick, Lincolnshire, which is run Ablegrange (Lincoln) Limited, was rated ‘inadequate’ following an inspection by the CQC in November.
Inspectors rated the home inadequate for being safe, effective and well-led and ‘requires improvement’ for being caring and responsive.
Residents were found not to have been treated with dignity and respect with one person observed to have faeces on their cardigan and another with dinner spills on their clothes.
Areas of the home were unclean with an unpleasant smell found in several rooms.
People were found to be malnourished with several leaving their meals uneaten with one resident being served a meal while asleep.
Another resident was at risk of choking through eating a bowl of pasta with their fingers while lying in bed.
Bedrooms in the room were cold with one resident found to be shivering. Inspectors also found that residents were at risk of developing pressure sores and having falls.
One person was found to have been left sitting at the breakfast table for one-and-a-half hours.
