Luxury care home operator Sanders Senior Living has acquired a site for a modern purpose-built scheme in Worcester.
The acquisition of the 1.8 acre site for a 74-bed home, which will be named The Belmont, was completed with advice from Knight Frank.
Alyssa Kelleher, Communications Manager, Sanders Senior Living, said: “Within our premium living environments, finished to a beautiful high standard, we help our residents enjoy happy fulfilled lives; enjoying long established hobbies, discovering new ones and being part of a vibrant community, with professional support and services on hand around the clock.”
The Belmont will offer en-suite wet rooms in all bedrooms and state-of-the-art facilities, including a dementia café, hair salon, lounges and communal areas, as well as private dining.
Permission for the scheme, which will create between 50 and 70 jobs, was granted in April during Worcester Council’s first ever virtual planning committee meeting.
Mandip Bhogal, Associate in Healthcare, Knight Frank, said: “This is a fantastic coup for Sanders Senior Living and we are thrilled to have sourced and advised them on this strategic acquisition and development opportunity which will provide a top-of-the-range care home for the local Worcester community.
“In addition to providing a significant facility locally, this development is also indicative of the types of opportunities we will see in the future as demand for fit-for-purpose care homes outstrips supply. Demand for modern purpose-built and future-proof care facilities will only continue to increase, owing to our ageing population and the national care bed crisis we face with many care homes in the market currently not up to standard.”
