Runwood Homes’ Woodbury Court in Laindon, Essex has been rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC following an inspection in January.
Woodbury Court, which was rated outstanding for being caring, responsive and well-led, and ‘good’ for being safe and effective, is Runwood Homes’ first overall outstanding care home.
Managing director Logan Logeswaran told Care Home Professional: “Runwood Homes continues to invest in all its care homes with home environment, staff training and senior management support.
“A stable manager with good leadership skills and a highly trained, committed and compassionate staff team supported by health, social care professional and the relatives positively encouraging the care home have resulted in an outstanding rating at Woodbury Court. The CQC inspector was very thorough and fair in the inspection process. Outstanding ratings can be achieved if all these factors play their part.”
Woodbury Court provides accommodation for up to 94 people including those living with dementia.
Home manager Mel Oliver added: “The team and I at Woodbury Court are overwhelmed with the outcome that we have received at this inspection, the CQC inspectors were very thorough and fair throughout the inspection process and could clearly see how the home had developed since previous CQC inspections.”
Jemima Burnage, CQC’s Head of Inspection for Adult Social Care in the central region said: “The registered manager was an inspirational leader and provided clear leadership and management for the staff team. People were looked after by staff who all shared the provider’s commitment to running a well-led service. The staff shared the provider’s vision and values to ensure people benefited from the best possible care.”
