Staff and residents are celebrating after RMBI’s Devonshire Court in Leicester was rated Outstanding by the CQC.
The home, which provides residential care and dementia support for up to 69 residents, was found to be offering an Outstanding caring, responsive and well-led service, and was rated Good in the remaining two categories, following an inspection in August.
Mark LLoyd, Managing Director of RMBI Care Co, said: “I am delighted to see Devonshire Court performing in the top range of care homes across the country. Our residents’ health and wellbeing is always at the forefront of our work at RMBI Care Co and it is fantastic to see this reflected in our regulator’s report.”
The CQC found that people at the service enjoyed life with their social and physical needs extremely well met by a dedicated staff team that was kind, caring and compassionate.
Residents were fully involved in the management of the home, taking their own decisions on what activities and hobbies they were involved in, which range gardening to arts and crafts, to day trips and gentle physical exercise.
Inspectors found the registered manager and her team to be providing excellent leadership to staff, ensuring good staffing levels to meet the needs of residents, and pursuing a long term vision for the home with excellent standards.
Rob Assall-Marsden, CQC’s Head of Inspection for Adult Social Care in the central region, said: “The provider and management team had a long-term vision for the home which they were working extremely hard to achieve.
“Staff received exceptionally good in-house and external training, and excellent support by management to ensure people’s health and social care needs were met.”
Juliet O’Connor, Home Manager at Devonshire Court, said: “We are thrilled at receiving our ‘Outstanding’ rating from CQC, following hard work during the past year to raise standards of care at the home and to provide the best support possible for our residents.”
