Retirement Villages Group’s (RVG) has made a string of Board appointments to support its £200m expansion programme.

Christina Edwards CBE (pictured) has been made non-executive director to lead the group’s compliance committee, ensuring best practice in governance across all functions of the business as RVG embarks on its largest growth phase in its 35 year history.

Christina comes with a wealth of experience in the National Health Service, both as a front- line nurse and at senior management level.

Oscar Russell has been promoted from estates manager to group estates director. He has been with the company for two years, having previously managed large portfolios in the London area for some of the leading house builders and developers.

David Thomas was confirmed as group care director having held the position on an interim basis.  David brings extensive nursing, quality and governance to the group, having previously worked at a senior level across the NHS and independent sectors.

Nigel Welby, RVG executive chairman, said: “We are strengthening our organisational structure to support our development programme and the growth of our care business.

“Making sure we are well equipped with the best network and highest calibre of people in the business is critical to our future success as we embark on the next chapter of the company’s growth.”
