A taster session to gather residents’ food likes and dislikes has been held at Quantum Care’s Greenacres care home in Hatfield.
Chef Phil from catering supplier Walter Clarke joined residents for the tasting designed to create improved menus.
Donna Steeden, Support Services Manager for Quantum Care, said: “It’s the most genuine feedback we can get. I go along to these sessions with other members of the services team and we see it for ourselves so we know what works on our residents menus and what doesn’t, and there’s no better way of giving our residents ‘choice’ than that.”
The most popular dishes scored by residents will feature on Quantum’s menu across its 26 homes.
Chef managers will then be able to tailor the dishes to their own residents once they have received additional feedback from their home.
The most popular of the 12 dishes served on the day, and the one residents’ are now looking forward to seeing on their home menus, was the ‘Brie, Bacon and Date Filo Parcels’; though the Mushroom and Spinach Tart and the Lemon Tart came in close behind.
