Residents and families praise Anchor care homes

Residents and their friends and families have praised Anchor in the latest Your Care Rating survey.

Anchor came out as the top large provider with residents scoring it 896 out of 1,000, up 10 points on last year.

Families and friends rated the not for provider’s care homes 837 out of 1,000, well above the national average of 828.

Jane Ashcroft CBE, Anchor’s chief executive, said: “I’m very proud of how well Anchor has performed in the Your Care Rating surveys. It’s a testament to hardworking colleagues who are committed to listening to residents’ feedback to deliver our promise of happy living for the years ahead.

“Families can also see at a glance that Anchor care homes are great places to be and taking part in the survey shows we are committed to listening to and acting on what our residents tell us.

“Every care home resident, and their family and friends, should be able to speak up about their care and this is what the Your Care Rating survey does – it ensures people have a voice.”

The survey found that 97% of residents said they were happy with the care and support they received, while 97% of residents said staff treated their family member with kindness, dignity and respect.

Anchor boasts the highest proportion of ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ CQC rated care homes among the large providers.

Your Care Rating is the largest survey of care home residents covering over 18,000 residents and 914 care homes across the UK.

Care homes are given an overall score out of 1,000 based on residents’ feedback across four themes: Staff and Care; Home Comforts; Choice and Having a Say; and Quality of Life.
