Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has provided a seven figure funding deal to help Peterborough Care develop its fifth care home.

The two-storey building will consist of ten residents and two households of fifteen residents, each with a lounge and open plan dining room at the centre, with en-suite bedrooms built around this facility.

A hairdressing salon and cinema room will also be part of the development as well as a café on site for residents and their families.

Peterborough Care is a family run business involving two brothers, Ajay and Amar, and mother and father, Shammy and David.

The business was established in Peterborough 33 years ago and was a winner at the Great British Care Awards 2010. Thorpe Wood will be the second purpose built home to be developed by the care operator.

Ajay Marjara, Director at Peterborough Care, said: “Royal Bank of Scotland has been a great support over the years and we cannot thank Graham enough for his sector experience, financial backing and guidance. With his shared belief and vision, we are continuing to provide first class care for the Peterborough community.”

The build will be carried out by Wildgoose Construction.
