Providers to celebrate care staff on NHS, Social Care and Frontline Workers’ Day

The unsung heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic will be honoured during NHS, Social Care and Frontline Workers’ Day on Monday, 5 July.

Event supporter, the National Care Association (NCA) is urging providers to use the day to celebrate their staff in their own way and join a synchronised cake cutting ceremony at 4pm.

Nadra Ahmed OBE, chairman of the NCA, said: “Our workforce have responded to the pandemic with compassion, commitment and selflessness in order to ensure our residents in social care remain as safe and supported as they can be.

“In social care we support over one million people and employ 1.5 million individuals who have been involved in a variety of settings.

“We have more beds then the NHS and yet are often forgotten, which is why NCA is committed to supporting this day and ensuring that our workforce are celebrated alongside their colleagues in the NHS and other critical frontline staff.”

Donations can be made to supporting this worthy cause by visiting the NHS, Social Care and frontline workers day web site or NCA’s donation page.
