Professor June Andrews has stepped down from her role as director of The Dementia Centre at Sterling University (DSDC).
The university says she will retain her link to the establishment as Professor Emeritus, but her work will be more limited to strategic projects.
Professor Alison Bowes, head of school of social sciences, praised the work of Professor Andrews, adding she “would like to take this opportunity to commend June’s outstanding contribution to the University and to the well-being of people with dementia and their carers: she has done magnificent work which has made a real difference”.
The University Court has awarded June the title of Professor Emeritus in recognition of her work. A statement from the university added: “On behalf of the school and the DSDC team, we all congratulate her on this well-deserved honour. We would also like to convey our best wishes for the future”.
