Two Newcastle care homes by Prestwick Care have been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
North-east-based Prestwick Care has a portfolio of 13 homes, with three other properties planned before the end of 2021.
Its Brooke House in Denton and Brunswick House in Brunswick properties have both received Outstanding ratings from the CQC.
41-bed Brunswick house was described as giving its residents “exceptional support from caring staff, who knew them very well.”
The report added: “Staff were extremely respectful and fully protected people’s privacy and dignity. Independence was strongly encouraged, and people were thoroughly involved in making decisions about their care.”
The CQC said of the 50-bed Brooke House: “The management team and all staff were committed to ensuring high-quality person-centred care was delivered to everyone.
“Staff were extremely kind and caring and always promoted the privacy and dignity of people. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.”
The company’s second Alnwick home, Beech Tree House, is due to open in Spring, with Prestwick saying it will be an 86-bed care home with general residential and nursing, dementia residential and nursing, as well as specialist care provision for bariatric and young, physically disabled clients.
