A woman has been questioned by police over the deaths of 12 people at nine care homes run by Sussex Health Care (SHC).
An investigation was launched by Sussex Police last year (see Police probe Sussex Health Care deaths) into the deaths of 12 residents between April 2015 and June 2017.
Sussex Police said: “A 39-year-old woman from West Sussex attended a voluntary interview under caution for gross negligence manslaughter on Tuesday (April 10) in connection with the investigation into Sussex Healthcare. The investigation continues.”
A SHC spokesperson told CHP: “We continue to cooperate fully with the police in their investigation. It would not be appropriate for us to comment further at this stage.”
The nine homes under the police probe are: Beech Lodge, Guildford Road, Broadbridge Heath; Beechcroft Care Centre, East Grinstead (pictured); Kingsmead Lodge, Crawley Road, Roffey; Longfield Manor, West Street, Billingshurst; Rapkyns Care Centre, Guildford Road, Broadbridge Heath; Rapkyns Nursing Home, Guildford Road, Broadbridge Heath; Woodhurst Lodge, Old Brighton Road, Pease Pottage, Crawley; The Laurels in Broadbridge Heath; and Orchard Lodge in Warnham.
