A 56-year-old woman was initially taken in for questioning in connection with a death in Thurncourt Road, Leicester, and was later arrested. The police said the woman has been released while its enquiries continue.

A post-mortem examination carried out proved inconclusive and further tests will be carried out to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.

In a statement given to the BBC, the care home said: “Leicestershire County Care and Thurn Court are fully co-operating with the police and other authorities while the investigation continues.”

Care Home Professional has attempted to contact the home for comment but calls to the property went unanswered and has previously reported on the ongoing case.

The investigation continues.
