Council plans to demolish a care home in Poole have been put on hold following opposition.
Planners will decide whether or not to back the building of flats on the site of the 14-bed Pinewood Tower Rest Home later this year, according to the Bournemouth Echo.
Poole planning chairman councillor Peter Pawlowski said: “The committee deferred this application in order to receive information and clarification regarding the impact of new planning guidance.”
The delay follows opposition from residents and a council planning officer report recommendation for refusal on the grounds of the loss of the care home.
The proposals are to be returned to the planning board at a later date.
