The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) is investigating the death of a resident following an incident at a Wiltshire care home.
The “unexpected passing” of the resident took place at Coombe End Court in Marlborough on Friday, 7 January.
An OSJCT spokesperson said: “OSJCT is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of one of our residents at Coombe End Court in Marlborough on Friday 7 January, following an incident at the home.
“Our deepest and heartfelt sympathies are with the family and loved ones at this difficult time.
“A full investigation has commenced to determine the facts surrounding the incident. The Trust has also notified the Care Quality Commission, local authority and Charity Commission of the incident.
“The care and safety of our residents is our highest priority and we are committed to working transparently with all authorities and the family to ensure that we get a clear understanding of what happened.
“Our dedicated and compassionate teams work tirelessly to provide the best possible loving care, with many residents becoming like family to them during their stay with us. To this end we have put in place appropriate support for all of our colleagues based at the home.
“Out of respect for the family, and pending the outcomes of the investigation, we are unable to comment further at this time.”
