Kit Lendon has been appointed as head of volunteering at The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT).

Having worked previously for six and a half years at veterinary charity PDSA, Kit will provide strategic direction for volunteering.

Kit said: “In the short term, I will be looking to establish a really strong foundation on which to engage with our much-appreciated volunteers. I will then be looking to grow and innovate our volunteering offer and help those people who give up their time to develop their skills, which will benefit both them, the Trust and residents.”

HR director Sara Wright commented: “Volunteers play an extremely important role at OSJCT and making sure they receive the right type of support, training and development is essential. We are pleased to have found a candidate as strong as Kit. She delivered some fantastic results for the PDSA, including achieving the Investing in Volunteers quality standard accreditation, so we’re very much looking forward to seeing the fruits of her labours here at OSJCT.”

Kit will work with OSJCT’s 600 volunteers across Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, where the not-for-profit care home provider has 68 residential care and nursing homes and 15 extra care housing schemes, which provide accommodation for over 3,500 residents.
