A dozen residents from Orchard Care home in Grimsby took a trip down memory lane during a food tasting day provided by Young’s Foodservice.

The residents from Eaton Court, Cambridge Park, and Grimsby Grange & Manor, were served five different courses by Young’s New Product Development Manager Michelle Gregory, and Product Development Chef Joel Carr.

Food and Beverage Manager at Orchard Care Homes, Dianne Lilley, said: “Thanks to our ongoing relationship with Young’s Foodservice, we are delighted to be able to offer residents exciting and stimulating trips out such as these.

“Reminiscence days like today are of huge benefit to our residents, who, alongside recalling fond memories of the docks, have enjoyed a variety of fish dishes. These include the reworking of classic favourites such as fishcakes and fish finger sandwiches, as well as menu items that they may not have tried before, such as the sweet chili Basa on a noodle salad. Everyone has really enjoyed the day, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Young’s this year.”

Business Account Manager for Young’s Foodservice Victoria Sterling added: “It was a fantastic opportunity to be able to share some of our new seafood concepts and gather feedback directly from the residents themselves who will now be able to influence the continued development of their daily menu.”

Orchard Care Homes’ partnership with Young’s Foodservice was established in 2017 when Joel delivered a cooking workshop to 15 other Orchard Care Homes chefs.
