Oakdale marks care home construction milestone

A ‘topping out’ ceremony has been held to mark a milestone in the construction of Oakdale Care Group’s Layston Grove care home in Buntingford, Hertfordshire.

Mayor of Buntingford, Councillor John Noades placed the last roof tile to complete the external construction of the building.

Co-Founder of Oakdale Care Group, Chris Babington, said: “We are really excited to see Layston Grove taking shape and the ‘topping out’ ceremony brings us one step closer to opening the home.

“We are looking forward to showcasing the great facilities we have on offer – it will be a spacious, comfortable and elegant home in a great location that will create around 50 jobs for local people and become a key part of the local Buntingford community.”

Due to open in March 2018, Layston Grove will provide residential and dementia care for 66 people.

Facilities will include en suite wet rooms, an English tea room, library, cinema and garden room for residents and their visitors to enjoy.

Oakdale’s all-inclusive services include hairdressing, chiropody, cinema, newspapers, private dining for friends and family, activities and trips out.
