Former Rosewell Care Home

Luxury care developer and operator The Care Home Group has acquired the former Rosewell care home in High Littleton, north east Somerset with plans to transform it into a 5-star luxury assisted living and residential care home.

The 80-bed home – one of the largest in the county – closed in the summer of 2016 and its elderly residents relocated after its previous operator decided to sell the premises.

Sean Murray, CEO of The Care Home Group, said: “We are delighted to add Rosewell to our growing property portfolio. With both Bath and Bristol within a 10-mile radius, our new luxury home will be ideally located for retirees seeking to downsize to a peaceful, rural location – with the peace of mind of professional care on hand 24 hours a day.

“We look forward to sharing our plans with the local community in the coming months – as well as recruiting new staff to deliver a 5-star service at Roswell.”

The Care Home Group has now completed its purchase of the home and will fully renovate it during 2017 into a luxurious 50-bed home.

The rapidly-expanding Somerset-based company is developing 5-star assisted living, residential and nursing care homes across the south-west offering premium levels of living, care and support to residents aged 65 and over.

It re-opened Latimer Lodge residential care home in Yeovil in January 2017, as part of its Yeovil Care Community development. Following a major redevelopment, the home now features boutique interiors, room service, 24-hour concierge, fine dining, a hair and beauty salon and a chauffeur-driven Bentley on standby for local trips.

Work is also underway on developing the adjacent Tyndale House nursing home into a specialist dementia facility, as well as the refurbishment of the Grade II-listed Hurst Manor nursing home at nearby Martock.

The sale of Rosewell was handled by Christie & Co business agent Jonathan Southgate, who said: “We are delighted to have helped The Care Home Group to acquire another fantastic property to add to their portfolio. With their established experience in the care sector, we are confident that they will maximise the home’s potential and wish them the best of luck with their future plans.”
