The UK will come together tonight to recognise people in the NHS and social care workers battling the coronavirus pandemic.

The #clapforourcarers campaign is inviting everyone to applaud those looking after those suffering from the virus at 8pm.

People under lockdown are being asked to come to their doors and windows and show their appreciation for the amazing work being carried out by carers at this difficult time.

Staff and residents at Ideal Carehomes’ 19 care sites in Yorkshire, the North West and the Midlands will be among those showing their appreciation. The care homes will be streaming their applause on Facebook and are encouraging families and friends of residents to join them in thanking everyone working on the front line against the virus.

Stacey Linn, Director at Ideal Carehomes, said: “I am incredibly proud of each and every one of our Ideal Carehomes staff members, the essential work they provide for our residents is truly inspirational.

“I would personally like to thank each and every member of our amazing team. I would also like to take the time to thank the NHS and all of their key workers and frontline staff for everything they do. I am honoured to know so many heroic people working within the care industry and at 8pm I will be joining our homes to clap for them all.”

The campaign is honouring people like Windsor Court, Care Assistant, Sharon Aldred (pictured), who proudly continues to deliver high quality person-centred care to Wetherby Residents despite the Covid-19 outbreak.

  1. In care homes it is the survivors who have been instrumental
in creating the world as it is today, that recognition and homage
are being paid for their sacrifices.
We need to be cautious about what we say as :
what is said reaches the mind.
how it is said reaches the mind.
