Anchor’s Nelson Lodge care home in Eaton Socon, Cambridgeshire, has hosted an open day attended by over 100 health care professionals.

The event was attended by doctors and health care commissioners as well as the Mayor of St Neots, Councillor Derek Giles.

Jane Trimarco, Nelson Lodge care home manager, said: “We’re holding this open day so that people can have a look round and see how great Nelson Lodge will be once it’s open.

“This is a proud moment for Anchor and a key milestone in what will be a fantastic new care home. We are looking forward to welcoming residents and becoming a part of the local community.”

Councillor Giles said: “Nelson Lodge is a wonderful new care home and will provide a valuable service to our community in St Neots.”

Opening at the end of this month, Nelson Lodge will provide care for older people as well as specialist dementia care.

The 64 bed care home will provide 24 hour care with facilities, including a hair and beauty salon, quiet and social lounges on each floor, a tea room and landscaped gardens.
