Spencer Grove in Belper, Derbyshire has become the second Milford Care care home to achieve a CQC Outstanding rating.
The home, which provides personal and nursing care for up to 68 people, joined the top 4% of adult social care services following an inspection in November.
Donna Annable, Home Manager of Spencer Grove, said: “We are extremely proud to have received ‘Outstanding’ from CQC. This is the result of all the hard work and dedication that the whole team have given to the residents over the last 11 years. Spencer Grove has recently had a complete refurbishment and the home is looking incredible – to now have Outstanding is the cherry on top of the cake.”
The CQC said: “People’s well-being was at the core of the service. There was an open and inclusive culture at the home, people were actively encouraged to be independent and have purpose and meaning in their lives. There was a culture of continuous improvement with a clear focus on ensuring any changes enhanced the quality of the service people received.
“People received excellent, effective care and support from a highly skilled staff team. Staff were caring and kind. People were treated with dignity and respect. Staff clearly knew people well and respected people’s individuality.”
Spencer Grove boasts roof-top views of the Derbyshire countryside, and spacious and communal areas, including large lounges, cosy dining areas and indoor garden rooms.
Milford Care has six homes across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire and is well-known for its leading, family-run homes. The provider has received many awards over the years, including Regional Winner at the Great British Care Awards.
