Geralyn Meehan has been appointed as the HR director of social care provider Milestones Trust.

Having previously worked in the not-for-profit, private and public sectors, Geralyn brings a wealth of experience to the Bristol-based Trust, which support people with mental health problems, learning disabilities and dementia.

Geralyn said: “As soon as I saw the advert I thought: ‘That’s where I want to work.’  There are real challenges for the social care sector at the moment -more people require care and support and there is less money to provide it.  I want to help Milestones Trust work its way through these challenges, by attracting and keeping committed staff who provide excellent care.”

In her last role, she provided a client facing HR consultancy service at Smith & Williamson and brings a wide range of skills to the role; she is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, in recognition of her work as an HR strategist. She also has a postgraduate qualification in business strategy.

She brings with her a wealth of experience in both HR and the health and social care sector. She has already settled in well and is providing additional expertise and advice to the SMT and her team.
