Michelle Murchan has been appointed general manager at Cornerstone Healthcare’s South Africa Lodge.
The registered nurse brings almost 20 years’ experience in healthcare management in the NHS, private care homes and as a regional manager.
Michelle also holds knowledge of elderly and dementia care together with a proven track record of improving care standards and increasing rates of occupancy.
Cornerstone Healthcare CEO, Johann van Zyl said: “We are delighted that Michelle has joined us. She has a wealth of experience that will benefit our residents at South Africa Lodge, and that we can draw on as the company embarks on a period of substantial growth.
“Over the next five years we will be opening further homes, offering the same excellent levels of care and we will give those with the most complex needs the best quality of life. Knowing South Africa Lodge is in such qualified and dedicated hands will give us a secure foundation on which to build.”
Cornerstone Healthcare Group Ltd operates two specialist nursing homes in Hampshire: South Africa Lodge and Kitnocks House. The homes care for people with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurological, physical and mental health needs.
Michelle added: “I’m very excited to be joining the company, especially at a time of significant development.
“My aim is to build a really united, committed and skilled team and take South Africa Lodge to the next level.
“I will be looking to maintain the excellent standards of service the staff here provide and will make sure we are doing the utmost to offer residents and their families the very best possible care.”
