The Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street, has paid a visit to Sunrise Senior Living’s Sunrise of Edgbaston care home.
The care home invited local business leaders and representatives from local schools to join their residents for a Q&A with the Mayor that was focused on local issues, these included care, transport, homelessness and education.
Zoë Doherty, Director of Community Relations at Sunrise of Edgbaston, said: “We were delighted to welcome the West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street to Sunrise of Edgbaston, it is really great he values residents’ opinions and he answered all of the questions they had. We are always looking for ways to ensure our residents stay involved in the community, and we look forward to welcoming more high-profile guest speakers in the future!”
The Mayor listened attentively to resident’s questions and also explained in-depth his proposed transport plans for Metro and Rail in the West Midlands.
Residents at Sunrise of Edgbaston enjoyed the opportunity to engage with Andy Street on local issues that matter to them, and it provided a chance for them to feel more involved in local politics and issues, and the Mayor recognised the importance of engaging with older people in the community.
