LNT Construction has announced work on a 66-bed care home in Kent will begin in June.

The care home, which will be operated by Barchester Healthcare, is being built on the site of the former Herne Bay Golf Club and will provide residential and dementia care for the elderly.

A spokesman for LNT told Care Home Professional: “We are delighted to be building such a fantastic care home for Barchester Healthcare.

“It is also great news for Herne Bay creating 50 jobs in the local area and providing a high quality resource for elderly people in the local community.”

The planning application for the build was granted by Canterbury City Council earlier this month.

Construction is expected to be complete by May 2018.

Leeds-based LNT Care Developments, part of Lawrence Tomlinson’s LNT Group, has built more than 100 care homes since 2000.

LNT Group Matt Lowe recently told us that the business was seeing huge demand for care home developments (see EXCLUSIVE: LNT boss reports “huge demand” for care home developments).
