The Home Care Provider of the Year Award goes to Home Instead Senior Care (HISC).
This category, sponsored by Care Planner, recognises the organisations that have led the pack in providing outstanding care over the past 12 months.
Home Instead Senior Care is the UK’s largest provider of companionship-based care for older people in their own homes.
The HISC model of delivering care recognises the need to support people’s emotional needs and offer social stimulation.
This was recognised in 2016 when the company was awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category.
Its service is delivered through a network of franchise offices (currently 200) and over the past 12 months, it has seen demand for its service grow.
The provider currently holds 53 ‘Outstanding’ ratings from the CQC, more than any other care provider in England, and has been named as one of The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For, for a second consecutive year.
In terms of training, its End of Life training programme received the Princess Royal Training Award in 2019. HISC also embraces technology and this year has launched GrandPad, a simple tablet for seniors. This allows seniors to send voice emails, view pictures and videos, listen to music, play games and make video calls.
The company’s director of innovation, Mark Laing, said: “It’s just fantastic to be recognised by all your peers, it’s really nice to be voted for by your suppliers.”
