Leicester based residential care group sold through Christie & Co

Hicare Ltd collage final

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Hicare Ltd to Kirklands Care Ltd.

Hicare, which runs Spencefield Grange and Meadow’s Court residential care homes (pictured), was sold for an undisclosed price after 30 years in the sector following the retirement of founder and managing director, Satnam Nanuwa.

Satnam said: “Hicare Ltd has been the biggest part of our lives, and our main priority, for many years. My wife, Sukhjit, and my two daughters, Rupinder and Surinder, have worked extremely hard to build the company and establish successful care homes. The decision to sell the homes was not taken lightly. My wife and I need to prioritise our health, and so the time has come to retire. We all wish the new owners of Spencefield Grange and Meadow’s Court all the success for the future.”

The business was sold to experienced and expanding operator, Kirklands, after the Nanuwa family appointed Christie & Co to find a new business owner who shared the same principles and family values as theirs so that they could build on what the company has already achieved.

Lee Howard, Regional Director at Christie & Co, added: “It has been a pleasure to deal with Hicare, which is a highly reputable family business, and we are delighted to have found a suitable buyer during these challenging times.”
