Islington care home prepares for third vaccination day

Staff and residents at an Islington care home are preparing this week for their third vaccination day.

The local vaccine team will visit Barchester’s Cheverton Lodge on Friday to administer a third AstraZeneca vaccination for residents and staff.

Twenty three staff members and 35 residents are expected to receive their second vaccination which will bring the home close to 100% vaccinated.

Looking ahead to Friday, general Manager, Earl Elliott said: “We will now have completed the vaccination programme in the care home for our staff and residents.”

A Barchester spokesperson added: “We are pleased to see the large numbers of staff and residents who are being vaccinated, it shows just how positive we all are in our efforts to protect ourselves, friends, and families and loved ones.

“The Team from Whittington Health, initially visited on January 8, and again on February 4 and vaccinated 23 staff members and 31 residents, so we are pleased for the successful roll out of the vaccination programme generated through Islington Council.”
