A ceremony has been held to mark a milestone in the construction of Ideal Carehomes’ Woodthorpe Lodge in Loughborough, Leicestershire.
Local MP Nicky Morgan and chairman of the LNT Group, Lawrence Tomlinson, attended the ‘topping out’ ceremony for the home, which is due to open in September.
Mrs Morgan said: “I was delighted to be invited to visit Woodthorpe Lodge and I am confident that it is going to be a great place to live and work for people living in Loughborough and nearby, as well as a hub for the local community.
“Quite rightly the management team have emphasised that care for residents will be at the very top of their list of priorities and I can see the new team are very keen to get started.”
The £10m home, which has been built by LNT Group subsidiary LNT Construction, will provide 24-hour residential and dementia care for 66 residents and will create 50 jobs. Its facilities will include a hair salon, cinema room and landscaped gardens.
Lawrence added: “We are honoured to welcome Mrs Morgan to Woodthorpe Lodge and appreciate the time she has taken to come and see the home in its final stages of construction – we look forward to welcoming her back in a few months to see the finished product!”
