Fairway View care home in Bulwell, Nottingham has become the first Ideal Carehomes’ service to achieve an overall CQC Outstanding rating.
The home, which provides residential and dementia care for 41 people, joined the top 4% of adult social care services following an inspection in November.
Dorothy Mbulo, Home Manager, said: “We are absolutely ecstatic to be awarded the highest possible rating by the CQC. The team is incredibly enthusiastic and passionate about their roles and continue to go above and beyond ensuring our residents receive top quality care and activities tailored to them, promoting independence and choice.”
Inspectors singled out the home’s ‘This is Me’ initiative that was rolled out by Ideal Carehomes in 2019. Through the programme, which is designed to help staff find out about resident’s lives and interests, staff have created a number of clubs, including a ballroom dancing club and a singing club which regularly visits local sister care homes to perform concerts for other residents.
The CQC was also impressed by staff’s positive attitude towards Ideal Carehomes due to its ‘forward thinking’ employment initiatives and substantial investment to recognise and reward dedicated and valuable staff whilst helping them to progress in their careers.
Allison Boyle, Quality Director at Ideal Carehomes, said: “The team should be extremely proud of themselves for achieving the first overall Outstanding within Ideal Carehomes. It is a testament to the hard work I see the team putting in each day making the home an exciting and aspirational environment for our residents and staff – congratulations to everyone involved.”
