Ideal Carehomes is expanding its portfolio with the acquisition of a site in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire.
The new state-of-the-art Mountview care home has been secured from specialist care home developer, LNT Care Developments.
Mountview will be Ideal Carehomes 16th home taking its number of beds to 942.
The move comes shortly after the appointment of Managing Director, Paul Farmer, who has an established reputation for sustainable expansion and high occupancy, with over 15 years’ experience in health care property.
Mountview will be the first home that Ideal Carehomes has commissioned since selling 25 homes to Anchor in 2015.
Paul said: “It is a particularly exciting time for Ideal Carehomes and I am thrilled to be leading the company through this chapter of growth.
“My main focus is to make every single Ideal care home a great place to live and work and we already have a good basis on which to develop.
“With Ideal’s experience coupled with LNT Care Development’s build quality, we have a recipe for more remarkable homes.
“Mountview is in a great location and I am sure it will become an integral hub of the local community, in terms of the homes and jobs it will provide, and also the active social calendar for residents and local people.”
The new home, which will open its doors towards the end of 2017, will benefit from advanced design features and environmentally friendly and sustainable aspects such as ground source heat pumps, underfloor heating and LED lighting.
As well as having 66 en-suite bedrooms over three floors, Mountview will include communal areas with a cinema, library and tea room. There will be other shared spaces which will be themed by the residents who live at the home, surrounded by attractive landscaped gardens.
Ideal Carehomes’ is pursuing an organic rather than target based growth strategy in order to ensure sustainability.
Ideal said LNT Care Developments will supply the sites and turn-of-key care homes and Paul would consider the viability of each site based on forecasted operational performance.
