Hill Care, which operates 19 care homes in the North of England, has been granted permission to build a 20th home on the site of a former pub in Chesterfield.
The operator currently has homes located in Derbyshire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Manchester, West and South Yorkshire and the North East offering services including residential, nursing and dedicated dementia care suites.
The Walton pub on St Augustines Road in Chesterfield (pictured above) was demolished last year.
A spokesman for Hill Care told local newspaper Derbyshire Times that the home would create jobs and extra capacity for elderly citizens in the town. “Such facilities are required within the area. It also creates the opportunity to provide employment for local people.”
The approved planning application states that building work must begin within the next three years.
