Aldringham Court in Aldringham near Leiston, Suffolk, part of Healthcare Homes, has appointed Sarah Robertson as its news manager.
Sarah, who lives in Lowestoft, has previously worked in childcare for Suffolk County Council before becoming an NVQ assessor and verifier. Sadly, Sarah lost her mother, which influenced her decision to instead pursue a career in nursing, specialising in acute haematology and oncology.
She took on a new role managing a team of care staff delivering end-of-life care to people in their own homes and developed the staff training. She then managed a nursing home in Lowestoft that supported 60 people and led the home’s significant improvement in its Care Quality Commission rating, supporting its position as a preferred provider of end-of-life care.
In her role at Aldringham Court, Sarah hopes to build on the home’s positive reputation and raise awareness of the support it provides to people in the community requiring care.
Sarah said: “The commitment of our staff to the home and residents during the pandemic has been inspiring and I am honoured to be part of their team.
“Aldringham Court has a great reputation for quality care. I want to build on this, provide strong leadership for the remarkable team and make sure they have every opportunity to train and develop so that we constantly enhance the care our residents receive.
“Looking forward, it’s very important to me that our local community knows that we are here to help. If anyone in the area has any questions around care that they may need for themselves or a loved one, people can telephone us to for advice. There are many ways we can help; either here at the home, at other homes in the group or through our specialist homecare division.
“As soon as restrictions lift and it is safe to do so, we look forward to welcoming the community back to our beautiful outdoor space for some much-needed socialising.”
