Plans for a 80-bed care home in Kingswood, Gloucestershire are to be submitted by HC-One to Stroud District Council.
HC-One is holding a public consultation at Kingswood Village Hall on 2 March on the plans for the development on land next to its Pennwood Lodge Care Home.
“We are meeting with residents, their relatives and the staff at Pennwood Lodge Care Home ahead of the public exhibition, and have already met with key stakeholders such as Kingswood Parish Council,” a spokesman said.
“We very much look forward to meeting with the local community to discuss the plans in more detail on the 2nd March. The project team will be available to answer any questions, and we will have comment cards for people to leave their feedback.”
As well as well as the new care home, the plans include the conversion of Pennwood Lodge (pictured) to apartments for 32 residents with acute needs.
A spokesman for HC-One added: “Any further planning application will be flexible to the care needs of local people at the time.”
The proposals for the new home include four lounges and a dining room on each floor, a tea shop, resident’s convenience store, gym, kitchen for residents to use, private family dining room, resident’s laundry facilities (in addition to full commercial laundry), coffee lounge, bar, cinema/library and a hairdressers with nail bar.
The hairdressers, tea shop and a small cinema would be open to the community.
