The Council of Deans of Health represents the UK’s university faculties engaged in education and research for nurses, midwives and allied health professionals. At any one time the Council’s members will be educating around 100,000 future and registered health professionals.

Newman said of his appointment: “I am delighted to be appointed to the board of this new charity. With integration between health and social care increasing, it’s important future healthcare professionals have a clear understanding of the rewarding careers and development opportunities available within our growing and vibrant sector. I look forward to working with the new board to ensure the voice of UK university faculties is heard.”
