Leading purpose-built residential care home developer LNT Care Development has received planning permission for a new 66-bed home in Northampton.

Northampton Borough Council granted approval for the site in Duston, which will be owned and operated by Oakdale Care Group, Building Construction Design reports.

Christine Cooper, project developer at LNT Care Developments, said: “We are delighted to be building such a fantastic care home for Oakdale Care Group. It is also great news for Duston creating 50 jobs in the local area and providing a high quality resource for elderly people in the local community. The facility will incorporate intelligent dementia design and be eco-friendly by benefitting from ground source heat pumps, solar thermal panels and LED lighting keeping utility costs low.”
